I had this issue where chat on Holodex wouldn’t work. Despite being logged in via Google and subscribed to a channel, the chat input was blocked and said “Subscribers-Only Chat.”

The Holodex Discord FAQ mentioned 3rd party cookies blocking the link between YouTube and the chat, but I didn’t have any of the associated extensions causing issues installed. My solution was to explicitly allow cookies and site data from YouTube.

1. Log in with your Google account
2. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data and click “Manage Exceptions…”
3. In the “Address of website” field, type https://www.youtube.com and click “Allow”
4. You’re done!

YouTube will be added as an exception and allowed to use cookies and site data. You don’t need to add Holodex itself.
